Krohn-Hite is celebrating its 74th anniversary as a manufacturer of electronic test equipment, providing customers with products that are solutions to a wide range of applications.
In 1949, Krohn-Hite marked the start in electronic design and manufacturing with the introduction of the Model 410A ultra-low frequency, ultra-low distortion oscillator. In the years that followed, Krohn-Hite’s reputation as a leader in innovative product development was established through the introduction of the industries firsts that included; the first ultra-low variable frequency filter (1950); the first pushbutton oscillator covering the range from 0.001Hz to 100kHz (1952); the first ultra-low distortion 50-watt amplifier (1954); and the first direct coupled power amplifier covering the range from DC to 1MHz (1958).
During this period, Krohn-Hite established and adopted its own philosophy to design, develop and manufacture electronic instruments, that would provide superior performance and reliability in both critical laboratory work and in general production and manufacturing areas, and most importantly, at a reasonable cost to the customer. This philosophy is Krohn-Hite’s “Standard of Value”.
To this day, this ‘Standard of Value” is in every Krohn-Hite instrument. Final test is performed under strict procedure, often requiring specially designed test equipment for that specific purpose. The result is an instrument of the highest quality, not only in terms of its outstanding performance, but also in its capability to provide an added margin of reliability in situations where environmental and long term stability are most demanding. It is this “extra” margin of reliability that is recognized and appreciated in every Krohn-Hite instrument.
